MEDITATION SERVICE GUIDELINES
in accordance with Ottawa Public Health’s COVID-19 Guidance for Places of Worship
SYMPTOMS: If you have any symptoms of Covid-19 (see list below), have travelled outside Canada in the prior 14 days, or been in close contact with anyone who has Covid-19 or has symptoms of Covid-19 in the prior 14 days please stay home.
MASKS: Masks are required at all times within the building (even during the meditation).
Attendees will need to register by providing names (at least one person per group, if applicable) and contact information (such as phone number and/or email).
To facilitate the registration process and to avoid line-ups upon arrival, attendees will be encouraged to pre-register on our website.
Social distancing is to be maintained at all times.
In the meditation room, chairs will be spaced at least six feet/two metres apart.
Families may sit closer together.
CHANTING AND SOCIALIZATION:
There will be no chanting to harmonium accompaniment during the service. Readers will play chants from a CD and members may sing mentally to themselves.
At the conclusion of a service, the exit door will be propped open and readers will ask members to exit starting with the back rows and moving forward. Members should socially distance as they file out and are encouraged not to socialize.
We will provide hand sanitizer and attendees will be asked to use it upon arrival.
Before each service, ushers will sanitize chairs and other high-touch areas including the entrance and meditation room door handles/knobs, water fountain taps, light switches etc.
